Operator (Expansion) I-2nd Shift

About the Role

The Expansion Operator will expand, cut, inspect, bag, and tag tubing, playing a crucial role in our manufacturing process at Zeus Industrial Products.

Responsibilities

• Spooling input onto heat shrink spools
• Coiling input
• Clamping, taping, cutting, inspecting, bagging, tagging, and straightening tubing
• Labeling and preparing orders for shipping
• Packing heat shrink dies in oven
• Setting up heat shrink equipment to produce proper specs on tubing for orders
• Keeping accurate records and paperwork
• Maintaining a clean and safe workplace
• Observing all safety rules and regulations
• Performing occasional utility work
• Preparing dual shrink tubing

Qualifications

• Ability to perform inspection functions, including visual inspection for cosmetic defects and color differentiation
• Experience with solvents such as naphtha, acetone, and alcohol, and adherence to safety equipment and rules
• Physical requirements: standing within a 30-foot by 36-inch area with little sitting, lifting up to 40 pounds periodically, constant walking, and some stationary standing
• Legible writing skills for filling in worksheet data
• Use of safety equipment: heat gloves, safety glasses, and protective gear as needed
• Cleaning duties using brooms, mops, rags, and all-purpose cleaners
• Thorough knowledge of standard and good sense practices
• Ability to carry out oral and written instructions and adapt to different situations
• Sound judgment and decision-making skills
• Basic mathematics knowledge is helpful
• Strong attendance and punctuality
