Job Overview
The Operator, Drawing 1 is a medium skill role that will coordinate, set up, and operate different drawing machines to draw various sizes of copper wire and aluminum from feeder stock. This individual will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Changing coils, bobbins, stems, and setting up control panel for speed and foot
- Determining which type of rod to use (single input rod)
- Being responsible for making the proper string-ups
- Responsible for completing daily production reports
- Making minor adjustments and repairs to machines
- Being responsible for lifting up to 45 lbs
- Performing any other assigned duties

Primary Job Tasks
- Set up control panel for speed and footage
- Make minor adjustments and repairs to machines
- Complete daily production reports
- Put scrap into the designated scrap bins
- Perform any other assigned duties
- Rotate on a set frequency within your workgroup to maintain skill proficiency
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must read, write, and speak English; Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
- Must be able to stand and lift heavy loads for long periods of time
- Must be able to follow instructions
- Must be able to lift up to 45 lbs
Qualifications
- Must be able to work under supervision and maintain ongoing communication with the supervisor and peers through verbal instruction and reports
- Must be able to work in hot and cold environments normally found in a prefabricated building without climate-control
