About the role
Responsible for all activities associated with running the folder gluer including setup, operation, cleanup, and recommending improvements to operations.
Responsibilities
- Efficient make-ready of assigned cartons.
- Accurate and efficient setup of all folding and gluing operations in accordance with proper techniques.
- Minimize waste of sheet stock and glue.
- Monitor adhesive application for proper placement, adhesion, and quantity.
- Maximize equipment utilization by operating machinery at available capacity and speed.
- Adhere to production schedule and make recommendations for optimization to meet cost, quality, and service goals.
- Submit maintenance work orders for needed repairs and proactively maintain equipment.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety and housekeeping.
- Duties may be expanded or additional duties assigned.
Requirements
- Manufacturing experience preferred.
- Prior work experience in the corrugated industry preferred.
- Able to read and follow instructions on factory masters.
- Able to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy.
- Working knowledge of equipment design and capabilities to enable efficient operation.
- Working knowledge of layouts, production specifications, and product quality specifications.
- Excellent team-building and interpersonal skills.
- High degree of attention required to prevent injury to others and promote a safe work environment.
