About the role

Responsible for all activities associated with running the folder gluer including setup, operation, cleanup, and recommending improvements to operations.

Responsibilities

  • Efficient make-ready of assigned cartons.
  • Accurate and efficient setup of all folding and gluing operations in accordance with proper techniques.
  • Minimize waste of sheet stock and glue.
  • Monitor adhesive application for proper placement, adhesion, and quantity.
  • Maximize equipment utilization by operating machinery at available capacity and speed.
  • Adhere to production schedule and make recommendations for optimization to meet cost, quality, and service goals.
  • Submit maintenance work orders for needed repairs and proactively maintain equipment.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety and housekeeping.
  • Duties may be expanded or additional duties assigned.

Requirements

  • Manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Prior work experience in the corrugated industry preferred.
  • Able to read and follow instructions on factory masters.
  • Able to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy.
  • Working knowledge of equipment design and capabilities to enable efficient operation.
  • Working knowledge of layouts, production specifications, and product quality specifications.
  • Excellent team-building and interpersonal skills.
  • High degree of attention required to prevent injury to others and promote a safe work environment.

  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work environment

  • Noise level is usually loud.
  • Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts.
  • Frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions.
  • Occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; vibrations.

Certificates, licenses, registrations

  • Required to maintain a current forklift license.
