Responsibilities
- Set up and run a range of machines including lapping, polishing, and tool grinding
- Use cutting tools such as diamond grinding wheels
- Read and interpret blueprints and work instructions
- Work to tight tolerances (down to four decimal places)
- Carry out first-piece inspections to make sure work meets spec
- Spot and troubleshoot mechanical issues on machines
- Keep your work area clean and organized
- Follow all safety procedures (non-negotiable)
- Pitch in with other tasks as needed
Qualifications
- A high school diploma (or equivalent)
- Experience with machining equipment, tools, and gauges
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and tolerances
- Basic math skills (algebra and geometry, nothing too exotic)
- Confidence setting up and operating machines, not just running them
- A detail-focused mindset—especially when working to tight tolerances
- Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- A willingness to learn new machines and processes
Pay
Competitive pay for the area
Schedule
Monday–Thursday 2:30 p.m. – 12:00 a.m., Friday 2:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
