About The Role
We are seeking an Operator 1, Bakery-Starter - 2nd Shift to join our team at our bakery location. As an Operator 1, Bakery-Starter - 2nd Shift, you will be accountable for preparing and blending ingredients according to established recipes while ensuring dough quality, product consistency, and efficient production operations. This role plays a critical part in delivering high-quality bakery products by supporting mixing and starter room activities, maintaining food safety standards, and optimizing production efficiency.
Shift & Schedule
- Shift: 2nd Shift
- Hours: 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM
- Weekend Availability: As required by business needs
Compensation
Hourly Rate: $20.00
Core Accountabilities
- Prepare and scale ingredients according to established recipes and production requirements.
- Operate and monitor mixing processes to ensure product quality, consistency, and specification compliance.
- Support starter room operations to maintain fermentation performance and production readiness.
- Maintain accurate production, inventory, and batch documentation.
- Coordinate mixing activities to support production schedules and maximize operational efficiency.
- Maintain sanitary, organized, and food-safe work areas, equipment, and ingredient storage locations.
- Promote food safety, quality, regulatory compliance, and contamination prevention throughout the manufacturing process.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Minimum six (6) months of experience in a manufacturing, production, or general labor environment.
- Ability to understand and follow recipes, formulas, and production instructions.
- Ability to operate production equipment, process controls, and computer-based operating systems.
- Ability to monitor product quality and make process adjustments as needed.
- Ability to lift and handle up to 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the shift.
- Ability to work safely and effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining accurate documentation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in bakery, food manufacturing, or related production environments.
- Knowledge of dough mixing processes and mixing equipment operation.
- Experience supporting fermentation, starter systems, or ingredient preparation processes.
- Familiarity with inventory control and production recordkeeping.
- Experience with Cleaning-in-Place (CIP) systems and sanitation procedures.
