About the Role
Under general direction of an assigned manager or supervisor, this position plans, coordinates, and performs specialized technical functions in support of college-wide operations. Key areas include project and repair scheduling, preventive maintenance, police/parking/security services, emergency responses, safety programs, facilities availability, hazardous and other waste disposal, special campus projects, and general office operations.
Responsibilities
- Maintains records on campus maintenance requests; analyzes and distributes requests to appropriate personnel.
- Coordinates and maintains records for the Chemical Hygiene Plan, Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), Environmental Protection Agency Data, Biohazardous Information, Bloodborne Pathogen Information, Hazardous Materials Information, and Toxic Information.
- Coordinates removal of hazardous, biohazardous, and toxic materials.
- Manages property loss/damage reporting and maintains related records.
- Coordinates repairs and maintenance with vendors; schedules repairs for campus elevators, typewriters, and other equipment.
- Orders maintenance and operational supplies and equipment.
- Prepares requisitions for materials, State compensation forms for industrial injuries, and employee time reports.
- Works directly with all operations departments; coordinates adds, moves, and changes to campus telephones and keying systems.
- Maintains files on purchase orders, materials purchased, and operations permits (boilers, elevators, tanks).
- Assists in coordinating Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) information, maintenance, and installations.
- Assists with budget compilation, Campus Emergency Plan, job safety, risk management, and other safety issues.
- Receives and assesses maintenance or repair calls, referring them to appropriate personnel.
- Facilitates communication between supervisors, campus employees, District Office, and Facilities Maintenance.
- Types letters, memoranda, and other correspondence.
- Arranges for pick-up and delivery of materials to job sites; maintains and distributes campus vendor catalogs.
- May oversee student employees.
- May be assigned special projects related to operational needs; attends meetings representing the Director of Operations.
- Acts as assistant to the Director of Operations as needed.
Requirements
- Three years of responsible accounting or general clerical experience, including areas of maintenance, purchasing, and personnel.
- College courses from an accredited institution in business or related education may substitute for up to two years of the required experience (one year of education equals 30 semester units).

Qualifications (Promotional)
For current, regular Classified employees of the Los Rios Community College District:
- One year of experience as a Maintenance Operations Clerk or equivalent, including responsibility for maintenance, payroll, and purchase order processing and procedures.
