Responsibilities
- Aid in organizing, training, and developing employees.
- In conjunction with the Location Manager, establish work schedules and duty assignments for personnel under this position's control to maximize efficiency and effectiveness in the use of people resources.
- Maintain people expenses in accordance with the location budget.
- Maintain people productivity in accordance with the location budget.
- Affiliate in the responsibility for all inventory record keeping and reporting consistent with company policies and guidelines at that location.
- Assure that all products leaving this location are properly accounted for through proper documentation of either billing invoices or product transfer forms.
- Ensure that seasonal and non-seasonal inventory quantities are at a minimum workable level to provide customer satisfaction and coordinate with other plants to strive to minimize total company inventories.
- Develop procedures for keeping warehouse orderly, clean, and safe.
- Keep store area and product displays of current seasonal items neat and clean.
- Ensure that all customers walking in and calling are greeted promptly and served efficiently and effectively.
- Implement, develop, and maintain an efficient equipment maintenance program.
- Maintain equipment and facilities in a way that reflects a good company image and minimizes downtime.
- Monitor custom application unit performance, organize, and dispatch application equipment in a manner to maximize unit performance.
- Provide equipment to assist other Wabash Valley locations through the direction of the Operations Officer or General Manager.
- Aid salespeople in dealing with customers and prospects.
- Work with salespeople in coordinating service to customers.
- Aid salespeople in handling customer complaints due to service.
- Perform "in-house sales."
- Provide assistance to other locations at the direction of the Location Manager, Operations Officer, and General Manager.
- Submit required reports promptly, and help and oversee timecards.
- Attend meetings as required.
- Show good judgment, positive attitude, and enthusiasm in dealing with customers and employees.
- Maintain a valid CDL driver's license with HAZMAT endorsement.
- Work with the Location Manager and Operations Officer to keep applicators/employees' training and certification current.
Qualifications
- Normally requires a high school diploma or the equivalent thereof, and 2 years or more of related work experience to demonstrate knowledge of fertilizer facility and equipment.
- Demonstrate essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making, and skill development.
- Must have or have the ability to obtain and maintain a CDL license with required endorsements and any other applicable certification, license, or permit, valid medical card, and satisfactory driving record, as applicable.
- Ability to work hours other than those considered normal to meet seasonal demands.
