Salary Range: $18.75 to $23.00 / hour

About the Role

Assist in the performance of essential daily plant operations and duties.

Responsibilities

• Assist with material handling, blending, storage, transport, and application equipment for accurate and efficient blending and delivery of products.
• Assist in the operations of the plant including facilities and service to patrons, as well as monthly inventory and all necessary reporting for plant operation.
• Enter information into computer utilizing Agvance, Excel, Word, and Outlook as needed.
• Assist Crops, Petroleum, and LP in marketing activities as required.
• Communicate effectively with patrons and fellow employees.
• Apply crop production inputs (liquid and dry materials) to fields and growing crops according to recommended rates and procedures, while communicating crop and field conditions.
• Assist in field scouting as directed by Location Manager and/or Crops Specialist.
• Work in all departments as needed (Crops, structures, petroleum, and LP maintenance).
• Repair and rebuild equipment as needed.
• Maintain all equipment for safe and efficient operation.
• Follow all safety practices and procedures; ensure fellow employees do the same.
• Operate a lift truck, shop equipment, skid loader, and perform basic/moderate computer operations.
• Assist in Petroleum and LP tank installations.
• Adapt to new procedures and updated application equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, with 2 or more years of related work experience.
• Class A CDL driver’s license with HAZMAT, TANKER, and Air Brakes designations, and a valid commercial pesticide operator’s license (or ability to obtain these).
• Ability to work extended hours and on-call as business conditions warrant.
• Willingness to work in varying conditions, including:
  • Extreme weather (hot, cold, wet, etc.)
  • Noisy environments
  • Exposure to dust, fumes, chemicals, and electrical hazards (with appropriate safety measures)
  • Working at varying heights
  • Lifting 51–70 lbs.
