About the role

We are seeking an Operations Support Technician to provide support for a Department of War (DoW) customer in Springfield, VA. In this role, you will assist with the fielding and management of deployable capabilities in support of the Personnel Recovery (PR) mission. You will assist the customer with establishing and maintaining the associated training, standardization, and operational readiness requirements of these deployable capabilities. You will also serve as part of a deployable team to both CONUS and OCONUS locations to provide support for short duration operations and exercises, and to support the development, testing, and employment of new capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain proficiency in the use of PR related equipment, capabilities, processes, procedures and devices.
  • Deploy and operate mobile RF (radio frequency) equipment, both on the ground and aboard aviation platforms.
  • Coordinate and participate in realistic training scenarios and exercises testing RF devices and other capabilities worldwide.
  • Assist in the development of training, tactics, and procedures (TTPs) associated with PR capabilities and related support activities.
  • Maintain readiness of PR capabilities and other supporting equipment, including performing recurring maintenance inspections, configuration of devices, operational testing, and troubleshooting of any performance issues.
  • Serve as a property custodian to maintain accountability of assets.
  • Prepare routine correspondence, operator support plans, training guides, exercise plans, security plans, and participate in drafting capabilities requirements.
  • Coordinate and conduct capabilities briefs for COCOM and interagency stakeholders.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with community partners/customers.
  • Participate in seminars, working groups, and meetings that outline new and emerging technologies, and provide expertise on their applicability to the PR mission.
  • Plan and support test events, exercises, and operational utility evaluations (OUE).
  • Provide initial and refresher training on equipment use to customers.
  • Provide technical support/advice on PR equipment and capabilities to customers.

Requirements

  • Must have an Active Top Secret US Government Clearance with SCI eligibility. Note: US Citizenship is required to maintain a Top Secret Clearance.
  • Experience with Radio Frequencies, Airborne Sensors, and Global Positioning Systems.
  • Experience with the operational deployment and employment of RF sensors.
  • Experience with operational utility evaluation of capabilities.
  • 5+ years’ experience in Personnel Recovery or related military experience.
  • Operational deployment experience.
  • Solid experience using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Excellent writing and communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work both independently and in a structured team environment.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • 6+ years of related experience.
  • SERE Level C training or equivalent.
  • Special Operations experience.
  • Operational deployment experience within the last 3 years.

Other Requirements

  • This is a non-remote, full-time onsite position, following a standard 8-hr per day/40-hr workweek with occasional overtime or the need to flex hours based on customer support needs.
  • Some after-hours or short-term shift work may be required to support urgent customer needs, including weekends and holidays.
  • Regular travel is required (up to 30%).
  • Must be able to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time working in an office environment, industrial space, or under various environmental conditions while conducting fieldwork.
  • Ability to lift various sizes of materials and equipment (up to 50lbs).
  • Must be able to deploy for short durations (not to exceed 30 days) worldwide in potentially austere environments in support of PR operations, exercises, and test events.
  • Must pass requisite physical examinations, comply with applicable theater entry requirements (TERs), and maintain deployability status.

Pay

The compensation range or hourly rate for this position is $46 - $62. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as job responsibilities, education, experience, skills, internal equity, market data, applicable collective bargaining agreements, and relevant laws.
