About the role
The Operations Support Specialist 4 is responsible for managing daily tasks required to support the design, construction, startup, and/or operations/maintenance activities of complex high hazard systems or projects. This role requires expertise in radiation protection and technical issues.
Responsibilities
- Renders expert opinions towards radiation protection and technical issues, providing recommendations to project design, work control, and construction teams in specific areas of expertise.
- Provides independent reviews and assessments in areas of specialized expertise and guides project teams in delivering results on projects of complex, high-technology nature.
- Interfaces with management personnel and customer representatives.
- Develops and enforces work standards, assigns schedules, reviews work quality, communicates goals, objectives, and policies of the organization to subordinates.
- Provides leadership for the project team, coordinates with functional organizations, and supervises senior personnel within the project organization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or technical discipline or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Eight (8) years of relevant experience, with five (5) years of directly applicable experience in radiation protection and/or work planning in a DOE Category 2 nuclear facility.
- US Nuclear Navy experience, DOE Plutonium facility experience, and strong operational knowledge highly desirable.
- United States Citizenship.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain DOE Q Security Clearance.
