About the role
Under general direction, this role performs a variety of job responsibilities which primarily include warehouse inventory, loading products, and record keeping. At times the employee will be required to drive a forklift, tend to equipment/maintenance work, and operate the fertilizer blending systems.
Responsibilities
- Loading and delivering fertilizer and chemicals to customers.
- Operating equipment to blend fertilizer.
- Monitoring product application by calculating amounts, calibrating equipment, controlling application rates, and cleaning and storing equipment after application process.
- Receiving and unloading product and performing warehouse inventory and storage functions.
- Assisting with recordkeeping related to warehouse/inventory responsibilities.
- Performing varied responsibilities such as equipment and plant maintenance including welding, pump and engine overhauls, painting, and general housekeeping.
- Miscellaneous duties such as assisting with special projects, attending training sessions, providing back-up when needed, etc.
- Assisting in loading/mixing/applying pesticides, gaining understanding of the importance of including proper adjuvants, mixing order, temperature, and other field/weather conditions potentially influencing application.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- One plus years related experience.
- Knowledge of basic farm equipment and operation.
- Ability to perform a variety of tasks in succession, e.g., blending products together, loading a truck, and driving the truck to a farm.
- Valid driver’s license is required.
Schedule
Ag-Industry Hours – overtime in peak season as required.
