Operations Supervisor, Outbound
About the Role
The Operations Supervisor, Outbound, is responsible for overseeing all aspects of outbound functions within a warehouse, including motor carrier compliance, route planning, monitoring, and customer/client service. This role requires a proactive, hands-on approach, with time split between the warehouse floor and the office.
Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day delivery operations, monitoring delivery activity, and ensuring alignment with client quality and production standards.
- Lead and participate in active route monitoring daily.
- Assist the Outbound Manager and GM with morning stand-ups, daily carrier communications, and carrier settlement processing.
- Recruit and onboard motor carriers.
- Contact clients regarding delivery timeframes, delays, and other pertinent information.
- Assist with audits and ensure returns processes align with RLX and client-specific requirements.
- Report loadout/returns and motor carrier compliance within client standards.
- Serve as the main point of contact for client escalations.
- Schedule orders and notify customers of next-day delivery time windows.
- Maintain professional relationships with location management, peers, motor carriers, and client employees.
- Process and monitor claims through the client portal.
- Identify and escalate process discrepancies, including motor carrier compliance concerns.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent required.
- Strong people and operations supervisory skills.
- Experience with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Teams, etc.).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, including conflict resolution.
- Ability to adapt to changes in a fast-paced environment.
- Operations or final mile delivery experience preferred.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
The role requires remaining stationary for long periods, working in a standing position, and communicating effectively with coworkers and stakeholders in person, by phone, and via email. Occasional maneuvering around the work area and object manipulation is needed. Extended work hours and travel may be required. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.
