About the role

The Operations Supervisor oversees the operational activities of the LNG Plant facility, adhering to technical and safety procedures and standards as outlined in the company's business plan. They ensure all operations and maintenance-related activities are effectively communicated with the shifts in charge and the technology/engineering section.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares shutdown schemes with relevant instructions and spading provisions.
  • Affirms LNG production meets daily scheduled production requirements.
  • Manages a safe and healthy workplace for staff, ensuring health, safety, and emergency requirements are met, including adequate emergency coverage.
  • Provides leadership in emergency situations as required.
  • Establishes process guidelines for efficient operation and monitors adherence.
  • Leads risk identification and assessments to ensure conformance.
  • Oversees permit to work governance, process, and permit requirements.
  • Contributes quality operational input to HSE processes such as HAZOPs, HAZIDs, technical reviews, etc.
  • Collaborates with ship’s officers to conduct pre-transfer meetings, coordinate pre-unloading ship activities, record events, calculate cargo quantities, and accurately complete customer unloading receipts.

  • Ability to identify and assess engineering and operational risks.
  • Influence and earn credibility across all levels of the organization, including contractors.
  • Demonstrated safety-based leadership and ability to coach project personnel to maintain a high focus on HSE in design and execution activities.
  • Identify, report on, and resolve project and people strategic issues.
  • Lead a large multi-skilled team with positive influence on team and organization.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of ten years combined operating/maintenance/engineering experience in LNG terminal and/or petrochemical/gas, including a minimum of three years operating supervisory experience.
  • Experience in LNG liquefaction facilities is highly preferred.
  • In-depth and demonstrated knowledge of project issues, including safety and integrity requirements.
  • In-depth understanding and knowledge of Woodside processes and systems.
  • Ability to lead a large multi-skilled team, with positive influence on team and organization.

Skills

  • Interfaces with the Maintenance Supervisors to plan and perform the maintenance of every piece of equipment and ensure its availability.
  • Organizes and plans daily engineering/maintenance related activities as efficiently as possible and sets priorities in consultation with the Operations superintendent.
  • Analyzes the plant operations performance on his/her shift and makes the decisions required to get maximum terminal performance and reliability.
  • Supports development of all operations procedures and work instructions and trains the operations staff in the safe, reliable, and efficient methods of LNG manufacturing through the general supervision of the Day Operations group.
  • Collaborates with engineering to ensure Operations and Maintenance outcomes are an integral part of design decisions.
  • Provides leadership to the LNG facility, oversees the execution of capital projects, plans and organizes projects and maintenance activities of staff to minimize impact on LNG production commitments.
  • Performs administrative activities to develop budget recommendations.
  • Develops schedules, assigns, directs, motivates, monitors, and evaluates the work of operators; reviews and approves time sheets; schedules vacations.
