Operations Supervisor - Barge
About the role
Louis Dreyfus Company is seeking an Operations Supervisor to lead and coordinate grain operations at their Port Allen, LA facility. This role involves overseeing barge and truck movements, managing systems and documentation, and leading a team in a fast-paced, 24/7 environment.
Responsibilities
Operational Coordination (Barge & Truck Movement): Oversee inbound and outbound grain movement, coordinate logistics, ensure correct routing, and act as the central communication point.
Systems & Documentation Management: Accurately input and manage operational data, maintain inventory and product grades, and resolve discrepancies quickly.
People Leadership & Team Environment: Lead, coach, and support hourly employees and contractors, foster a collaborative team environment, and reinforce safety and operational standards.
Safety & Facility Oversight: Champion a strong safety culture, ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards, and coordinate maintenance activities.
Requirements
Education/Professional Certifications/Licenses: High school diploma or GED, valid driver's license, and TWIC card.
Experience: 2+ years of experience in industrial, manufacturing, or bulk logistics operations, understanding of logistics and inventory management, demonstrated people leadership experience, strong systems capability, and proven documentation accuracy.
Preferred Experience: Knowledge of grain handling, agriculture, or bulk commodities, exposure to control room or logistics coordination environments, and familiarity with grain grading and OSHA standards.
Qualifications
Education: Basic qualifications include a high school diploma or GED. Preferred qualifications include a college degree in a related discipline.
Experience: Must have 2+ years of experience in industrial, manufacturing, or bulk logistics operations, understanding of logistics and inventory management, and demonstrated people leadership experience.
