Operations Supervisor

About the Role

The Operations Supervisor directs job assignments and provides technical hands-on leadership to production and shipping staff, ensuring a professional attitude while meeting production schedules and customer commitments.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and maintain safety practices in compliance with company policies.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
• Develop employee skills through training, guidance, and coaching.
• Supervise and assist in training for production and shipping processes.
• Develop new procedures to ensure consistent performance.
• Communicate shift activity, changes to equipment, processes, and materials to personnel.
• Participate in planning production and shipping schedules.
• Allocate resources to minimize downtime and ensure safe, efficient completion of activities.
• Prioritize and manage workload to meet daily objectives.
• Monitor efficiency and quality of production and logistics jobs.
• Review daily production and shipping goals; report issues preventing goal attainment.
• Assist in troubleshooting production, shipping, incidents, accidents, and customer complaints.
• Review production records for completion and accuracy.
• Review and approve timesheets for production and shipping personnel.
• Control costs through effective manpower management.
• Maintain inventory and replenish production and shipping supplies.
• Ensure team members have necessary resources and equipment for safe operations.
• Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of inventory and hazardous materials.
• Perform supervisory functions including hiring, training, appraisals, counseling, and discipline.
• Conduct performance appraisals and communicate results to management.
• Facilitate smooth information flow within the company to support business operations.
• Manage employee conduct or performance issues in line with company policies.
• Collaborate across operations to meet quality, EHS&S policies, and customer needs.
• Perform other duties as directed by the Operations Manager.
• Exhibit and practice the company’s fundamental behaviors.

Requirements

• High School Graduate or GED (desired but not required).
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Production, Packaging, Logistics, or Petrochemical industries.
• Leadership, supervisory, or management experience.
• Knowledge of and experience working with hazardous materials.
