Operations Supervisor
About the role
The Operations Supervisor at ShipMonk leads, manages, and develops a team of 25 to 30 ShipMonk Associates. They communicate policies, maintain compliance, and take corrective action when necessary. Key responsibilities include using software to manage inventory flow, focusing on productivity, process, and quality of warehouse operations, reporting on stock levels, issues, employee performance, and optimizing workflows.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of 25 to 30 ShipMonk Associates
- Communicate policies to Associates and serve as the primary information source for the team
- Edit and manage the inventory flow using software
- Focus on the productivity, process, and quality of warehouse operations through KPIs
- Report to upper management on stock levels, issues, employee performance, etc.
- Constantly work to improve processes
- Optimize employee workflow (submit requests for supplies) to maximize productivity
- Ensure proper maintenance and safety of facility equipment
- Communicate with the warehouse manager to make critical decisions
- Train new warehouse associates
- Oversee warehouse sanitation in your assigned department
Requirements
- Associates or Bachelor's degree in Operations, Supply Chain, Management, Engineering or related field and/or Honorable Discharge from The United States Military as an NCO or higher rank preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a supervisory role
- Working knowledge of inventory management software
- Excellent organization, planning skills, and strong attention to detail
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
- Proven track record of taking ownership, driving results, and managing change
- Ability to dive deep into data and provide thought-provoking, workable business solutions
- Available to work on weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Must be able to stand for most of the day
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
Qualifications
The Operations Supervisor must have a solid understanding of warehouse operations, including inventory management, process optimization, and team leadership. They should also possess excellent organizational and communication skills, along with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively.
