Responsibilities
- Lead a team of employees assigned to identify, sort, and process nonferrous scrap material.
- Communicate daily production goals, and other operational information.
- Inspect working area and identify needed tools or equipment and address any safety or maintenance concerns with the proper individuals.
- Assist the General Manager (GM) with team scheduling to cover production goals and absences.
- Assign and train employees on all equipment used in the work area (i.e., forklifts, skid steers, balers, wire machines, etc.).
- Maintain production and take proactive actions to ensure daily and weekly production goals are met or exceeded.
- Complete all required paperwork (production reports, training documentation, maintenance requests, etc.) and review for accuracy before submitting.
- Afford assistance with team member concerns: reporting and follow up.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma, GED Certification, or equivalent work experience.
- Two (2) years previous experience as a lead or supervisor.
- Ten (10) years previous experience in ferrous/non-ferrous operations.
- The ability to use a computer/tablet.
- Bilingual (English and Spanish) a plus.
- The ability to learn new tasks as assigned required.

Physical Requirements
- Work Environment: Office and Scrap metal yard
- Equipment & Tools: Office equipment, general tools, and training with mobile equipment
- Physical Demand Level: Light to Moderate
- Work Capacity: Lifting & carrying 35lb loads, head turning, bending.
- Sensory Demands: Hearing, vision, smell, touch and taste
- Hand Movements: Repetitive motions, typing
