Operations Supervisor
About the role
As a Supervisor, Operations in Managed Transportation at RXO, you’ll use your expertise in process improvement and LEAN principles to enhance efficiency and drive continuous improvement. Your responsibilities will involve maximizing operational efficiency, driving continuous improvement through LEAN principles, managing workflows and optimizing productivity, fostering collaboration among teams, addressing employee conflicts, maintaining a safe and respectful workplace, and mentoring and developing hourly team members.
Responsibilities
- Leverage expertise in process improvement methodologies to maximize operational efficiency and effectiveness
- Drive continuous improvement by implementing LEAN principles to streamline workflows and reduce waste
- Apply a deep understanding of processing centers and scheduling procedures to manage workflows and optimize productivity
- Foster collaboration among PC&L teams, supply chain partners and customers to enhance operational performance and achieve shared goals
- Navigate complex operational challenges with clarity, resolving ambiguity to maintain focus and productivity
- Utilize comprehensive knowledge of end-to-end process flows, from inbound to outbound, to ensure accurate inventory management and billing
- Mentor and develop hourly team members across all PC&L departments, promoting growth and skill-building
- Cultivate a positive work environment that prioritizes employee morale, development, teamwork and accountability
- Address employee conflicts proactively using proven leadership strategies to maintain a cohesive and motivated workforce
- Maintain a safe and respectful workplace by enforcing policies against harassment, drugs and workplace violence, while promptly documenting and reporting concerns or incidents to management
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience in transportation, logistics or supply chain
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (preferred)
- Experience working with a Transportation Management Systems (TMS), preferably Oracle Transportation Management
- Experience with process improvement initiatives
- Solid leadership and collaboration skills with the ability to effectively supervise, coach and influence employees
- A willingness to work cross-functionally on multiple accounts
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presenting clean, organized and thorough information and data appropriate for intended audience
Qualifications
While not strictly required, having a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, experience with Oracle Transportation Management, and experience with process improvement initiatives would be beneficial.
