Responsibilities
- Ensures a safe and compliant operation according to both regulatory standards and company standards.
- Establishes and maintains department standards for productivity, reliability, and accuracy.
- Supervise, motivate, and coach team members to meet stockroom standards and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Utilize docks and stockroom layout to maximize efficiencies.
- Ensure team is adequately staffed, trained, and managed.
- Forecast team needs to meet peak demands of the business.
- Maintain all housekeeping and safety standards.
- Lead team by example by loading trucks, packing orders, or other duties as necessary.
- Recommend changes in procedures to improve operating efficiencies.
- Serve as a coach and mentor, helping team members grow while using performance-based feedback to set expectations.
- Perform required administrative tasks; prepare required reports and correspondence.
- Implement standard operating procedures (SOPs), ensuring orders are picked, packed, and shipped in accordance with standards and designated cut-off times and timely unloading, verification, and put away of inbound materials.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to use and operate WMS systems.
- Ability to produce work tasks from WMS systems.
- Proficient in basic Excel skills for reporting of KPIs.
- Proficient in Word documentation for procedures and standards.
Qualifications
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts, such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
