Operations Supervisor

Responsible for

Assigns employees to routes and special pickups for timely services.

Sets workload for employees.

Ensures accountability of route completions.

Makes recommendations and implements routing changes.

Makes sure work is efficient and effective.

Monitors collection practices and enforces safety policies and procedures.

Resolves customer service problems, oversees extras, and responds to complaints.

Investigates and resolves customer inquiries and complaints.

May include responding to and corresponding with jurisdictional staff.

Recommends rate adjustments and resolves billing disputes.

Generates and analyzes operational reports and makes recommendations.

Ensures appropriate customer billing.

Advises Operations Manager on delinquent accounts and assists in their collection.

Performs or reviews pre- and post-trip inspections.

Investigates and reports on worker injuries, accidents, and other incidents.

Maintains time records and manages attendance issues.

Drives trucks, as needed.

Ensures policies, procedures, and collective bargaining agreement (if applicable) are followed.

May dispatch or be backup for dispatch duties.

May participate in community and business meetings and events on behalf of the company.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Possession of a high school diploma or GED.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Management experience in waste industry/recycling programs, transportation, production and logistics operations or related field.
• Class "A" or "B" Commercial Drivers' License required.
• Principles of employee training, supervision, and evaluation.
• Supervisory techniques, resource allocation, planning and budgeting.
