Responsibilities
- Plan, assign, and direct work; address complaints and resolve problems.
- Coordinate product flow from storage facilities to customers using DOT-compliant transportation and scheduling.
- Locally represent Pinnacle Propane and ensure operations comply with safety and compliance policies.
- Oversee drivers, service technicians, and yard hands within a defined territory.
- Ensure safe operation of bulk storage facilities, cylinder dispensers, and depots.
- Act as site chief for manned sites (excluding supervision of customer care agents).
Safety Leadership
- Ensure adherence to Pinnacle’s values, code of conduct, ethics, and compliance policies.
- Implement and carry out Pinnacle’s Visible Felt Leadership roadmap.
- Partner with the Safety Team to maintain zero-incident goals.
- Ensure all staff are compliant with company and regulatory training.
- Oversee Operational Discipline and Safety process directives.
- Support staff with Pinnacle’s 9 Life Saving Rules, General Safety Habits, and CARE – 7 Steps to Zero.
- Conduct and document regular safety meetings as required.
Resource and Training Management
- Determine resources needed in distribution and technical services to meet customer needs.
- Recruit, interview, select, train, and motivate direct reports.
- Provide training for drivers on handheld computers for proper delivery completion.
- Provide technical training for service technicians to ensure task execution.
- Train yard hands on cylinder filling, yard maintenance, and technical assistance.
- Support drivers, technicians, and yard hands to improve job execution.
Supervision and Operations
- Monitor driver logs and DVIRs daily to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Organize and manage daily operations of distribution and service personnel to ensure high customer service.
- Schedule transportation for all runs to depots and communicate needs to production.
- Prepare, approve, and process payroll for staff.
- Ensure proper expense control for drivers and service technicians.
- Manage district budget and financial statements.
- Conduct bi-annual rides with delivery drivers to instruct, monitor, and motivate employees.
Compliance and Equipment
- Test new drivers to ensure proper paperwork completion before independent driving.
- Maintain delivery equipment to meet company and DOT standards.
- Audit vehicle paperwork and inspect depots for compliance.
- Maintain DOT vehicle files and driver DOT files using JJ Keller.
Efficiency and Customer Experience
- Communicate route needs and changes daily to Routing Coordinators.
- Conduct month-end inventories for propane, fuel, cylinders, cages, and parts.
- Seek efficiency opportunities through continuous improvement.
- Ensure schedules are maintained to meet delivery expectations.
- Understand the local customer base and align operations to meet demands.
- Partner with Customer Service to address and act on customer requests.

Requirements
- Must possess or obtain within 90 days of employment a Class B CDL with a Hazardous Material endorsement.
- Basic industry knowledge or relevant experience (e.g., commercial driving, distribution, transportation).
- Willingness to complete all licensing and testing to meet state requirements.
- Basic computer skills required.
- Strong time management skills: ability to handle multiple projects, meet deadlines, and function independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail; ability to communicate clearly, verbally and in writing, with employees at all levels.
- Forklift certification preferred.
- CDL and Hazmat license preferred.
- 2 years of previous management experience, direct P&L responsibility, and distribution/transportation experience a plus.
Travel and Hours
- Full-time position with standard operating hours.
- Travel between field locations required.
Physical Demands
- Regularly required to talk or hear, stand, and walk.
- Occasionally required to lift office products and supplies up to 50 pounds.
