Operations Supervisor

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, coordinate and implement methods and procedures for efficient and economical routing and movement of customers' freight.
• Compile production and service records and measure conformance to standards.
• Inspect and measure performance of personnel and make necessary changes to improve Service Center operations.
• Review logs and reports and confer with shift personnel for scheduling, production, and administrative support requirements.
• Set up appointment freight deliveries.
• Perform or assist with billing, rating, manifesting, and freight weight and size analysis.
• Maintain excellent communication with external and internal customers.
• Aid in the training, development, and evaluation of production and/or clerical personnel performance and recommend or initiate documentation.
• Work with the Service Center Manager to recruit, qualify, interview, hire, train, and develop Service Center personnel.
• Maintain the Service Center premises and ensure its protection and maintenance.
• Assist in the investigation, reporting, and initiation of corrective actions for accidents, job-related injuries, and employee discrepancies.
• Understand and apply company safety practices including DOT, EPA, ICC, and OSHA rules and regulations.
• Facilitate information meetings with Service Center team members.
• Handle special assignments as directed.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the LTL/Transportation Industry.
• Experience managing Drivers and Dockworkers.
• Knowledge of the surrounding geographical area to the Service Center.
• Likely to be legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Fluent in English.

Pay

Starting Pay: $70,000 per year. This amount reflects total compensation (base + bonus). Pay does vary depending on relevant industry experience.
