Summary
The Operations Supervisor coordinates and supervises all warehouse activities on a daily basis, including receiving, storing, transporting, shipping, transloading, and inventory management under the direction of the Operations Manager or Facility Manager.
Responsibilities
- Ensures facility housekeeping and safe, injury-free operations 24/7, including scheduling, unloading, processing, loading, and shipping of freight.
- Determines work procedures, prepares schedules, and expedites workflow based on work orders, priorities, and equipment/worker availability.
- Assigns duties, examines work for accuracy, and ensures conformance to policies and procedures.
- Distributes paperwork for product picking/processing and answers questions about pick lists, bills of lading, and bin replenishment.
- Supervises and coordinates shipments, advising employees on proper handling of goods and equipment use.
- Maintains a clean, orderly, and safe work area while promoting safety through daily meetings.
- Reviews production schedules and confers with supervisors to ensure timely shipping of customer products.
- Coordinates with other departments to align warehouse activities and ensure workflow efficiency.
- Contacts carriers to manage pickup schedules and follow-ups.
- Directs staffing agency associates by demonstrating tasks and workflow requirements.
- Monitors and evaluates individual work performance.
- Ensures safe operation of materials handling equipment, warehouse security, and inventory integrity.
- Adheres to all company policies and procedures.
- Participates in additional duties, tasks, and projects as assigned.

Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Three years of related experience as a warehouse supervisor or lead.
- Experience with shipping, receiving, and inventory control.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to establish priorities and multitask.
- Experience with material handling equipment.
- Familiarity with Excel spreadsheets and Warehouse/Yard Management Systems or Transportation Management Systems (desirable).
