Responsibilities
- Aids in planning, organizing, assigning, directing, and reviewing the work of operators and technicians.
- Oversight of facility operation and maintenance to comply with regulations and design criteria.
- Development and implementation of process control techniques to enhance plant efficiency.
- Direct supervision of four plant personnel, including two operators and two maintenance technicians.
- Resolution of equipment and process issues with plant personnel.
- Coordination of equipment repairs or replacements to maintain manure processing influent quality.
- Monitoring of plant operations via SCADA system and suggesting improvements.
- Performance or coordination of laboratory analyses to ensure process control.
- Overseeing and implementing preventive maintenance programs for digester and upgrade sites.
- Assisting in the implementation of the plant safety program.
- Training of plant personnel.
- Preparation and maintenance of work orders and CMMS software.
- Initiation of requisitions for tools, materials, equipment, and services.
- Response to emergency or abnormal facility situations.
- “On-call” availability and remote troubleshooting capabilities.
Required Knowledge and Skills
- Knowledge of anaerobic digestion and biomethane upgrading processes.
- Understanding of mechanical, biological, and chemical processes in manure digestion.
- Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety measures in biogas plants.
- Ability to work with raw manure and chemicals while using appropriate protective equipment.
- Planning and directing the work of subordinate employees.
- Basic knowledge of SCADA systems and Microsoft Office software.
- Ability to perform and analyze laboratory tests for operational adjustments.
- Teamwork and effective communication skills.
- Adaptability to various weather conditions and exposure to the elements.
- Physical ability to lift and move heavy objects and work in small, cramped spaces.
- Compliance with confined space entry procedures.
- Ability to understand and follow both oral and written instructions.
