About the Role

Allied Reliability is seeking a temporary (approximately 3 months) Operations Supervisor for our parent facility in Newell, WV. This is an exciting, fast-paced front-line leader role at the highest performing Lubricants Operating Plant, processing approximately 60 million gallons of pack lubricant products ranging from motor oils to industrial fluids. The site also ships and receives bulk products for packaging. We are seeking local candidates only.

The Operations Supervisor is a vital part of the Lubricants Operating Plant team, ensuring the daily execution of the Production Plan. This leader will drive a continuous improvement and learner mindset, fostering collaboration across highly integrated departments to safely deliver quality products on time and at the lowest cost.

Responsibilities

  • Understand the daily production plan and use digital tools for key performance and production metrics (Production Schedule Adherence, Plan to Production, Blending, OEE, Right First Time, blend rate) to enable shift team execution.
  • Actively engage and collaborate with teams including Lab, Packaging, Truck Rack, Maintenance, Blending, and Planning to optimize the plan and resolve conflicts.
  • Lead consistent implementation of plant-wide policies, work processes, procedures, and practices to ensure a safe, sustainable, and efficient workplace that meets or exceeds customer expectations.
  • Set the highest standards for Safety within the HSSE Management System, fostering compliance, intervention, and respect to achieve Goal Zero performance.
  • Ensure operations are carried out per GSAP-defined processes.
  • Lead Continuous Improvement activities, including Root Cause Analysis and Corrective/Preventative Actions.
  • Manage and minimize inventory variance and value leakage, and track/report material usage and waste.
  • Support increased digitalization of processes for improved visibility of performance and efficiency.
  • Assure required competencies are in place or work with team members to develop them.
  • Participate in incident reviews (safety, quality, Right First Time) with a learner mindset to understand root causes and mitigate recurrence.
  • Help improve work procedures and processes, escalating when inaccurate or not fit for purpose.
  • Provide cross-departmental back-up supervisor coverage when needed.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in supply chain, manufacturing, engineering, or relevant experience is required.
  • Previous experience in blending, bulk loading, and packaging motor oils and/or chemicals is desirable.
  • Strong commitment to Goal Zero and a proven record of HSSE leadership/competencies.
  • Success in developing and leading teams, with proven ability to coach and develop people.
  • Proven change management skills.
  • Must be an ardent team player with effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with production targets while motivating and valuing the team.
  • Familiarity with PowerBI and LocStatt is a plus.
  • Experience managing a unionized workforce is desirable.

Schedule

This role requires rotating day, afternoon, and night shifts, with the opportunity to transition to a different shift in the future. The schedule follows a 5-day workweek and a 9/80 arrangement, with periodic overtime and weekend work required.
