Operations Supervisor

What You'll Do

  • Lead and support a team of Shop Technicians, providing daily guidance, coaching, and technical expertise
  • Cook up shop workflow and technician assignments to ensure efficient utilization of labor and timely completion of repairs
  • Serve as the primary technical resource for complex diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair-related challenges
  • Review work orders for completeness, accuracy, proper documentation, and timely closure
  • Conduct regular Work in Progress (WIP) reviews to ensure jobs remain on schedule and are completed within established timelines
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and professional shop environment in compliance with company policies and safety standards
  • Collaborate with Parts, Service, and Operations teams to ensure efficient job execution and customer satisfaction
  • Assist with customer communication and service-related concerns as needed
  • Provide hands-on technical support and perform repairs when necessary to support shop operations
  • Conduct regular equipment, tool, and shop inspections to maintain safety and operational readiness
  • Identify and implement process improvements that increase productivity, efficiency, and overall service quality

What You Need

  • 5+ years of experience as a technician in industrial equipment, maintenance, mechanical repair, or a related field
  • Previous leadership, mentoring, or supervisory experience preferred
  • Strong technical expertise in equipment diagnostics, repair, and troubleshooting
  • Proven ability to lead by example and foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and safety
  • Strong understanding of service department operations, including work order management, labor tracking, and workflow coordination
  • Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills
  • Able to prioritize multiple tasks and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Experience coaching, training, and developing technicians
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and service management software; experience with EquipSoft and Tinnacity preferred
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training, certifications, or additional education preferred
  • Able to participate in after-hours support rotation as needed
