What You'll Do
- Lead and support a team of Shop Technicians, providing daily guidance, coaching, and technical expertise
- Cook up shop workflow and technician assignments to ensure efficient utilization of labor and timely completion of repairs
- Serve as the primary technical resource for complex diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair-related challenges
- Review work orders for completeness, accuracy, proper documentation, and timely closure
- Conduct regular Work in Progress (WIP) reviews to ensure jobs remain on schedule and are completed within established timelines
- Maintain a safe, organized, and professional shop environment in compliance with company policies and safety standards
- Collaborate with Parts, Service, and Operations teams to ensure efficient job execution and customer satisfaction
- Assist with customer communication and service-related concerns as needed
- Provide hands-on technical support and perform repairs when necessary to support shop operations
- Conduct regular equipment, tool, and shop inspections to maintain safety and operational readiness
- Identify and implement process improvements that increase productivity, efficiency, and overall service quality
What You Need
- 5+ years of experience as a technician in industrial equipment, maintenance, mechanical repair, or a related field
- Previous leadership, mentoring, or supervisory experience preferred
- Strong technical expertise in equipment diagnostics, repair, and troubleshooting
- Proven ability to lead by example and foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and safety
- Strong understanding of service department operations, including work order management, labor tracking, and workflow coordination
- Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills
- Able to prioritize multiple tasks and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Experience coaching, training, and developing technicians
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and service management software; experience with EquipSoft and Tinnacity preferred
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training, certifications, or additional education preferred
- Able to participate in after-hours support rotation as needed
