About the role
We are seeking a driven and hands-on Operations Supervisor to oversee daily manufacturing operations in our data center production facility for our 2nd shift.
Responsibilities
- Production Management & Team Management: Supervise, coach, and support a team of production employees to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
- Supervisor, train, and support a team of production employees fostering a culture of safety, quality, and accountability.
- Monitor and manage daily production schedules to meet output targets, deadlines, and customer requirements.
- Collaborate and integrate in to the site leadership team with direct responsibility for production team members performance and plant output.
- Ensure proper staffing levels and coordinate workloads for optimal efficiency.
- Responsible for the administrative tasks to ensure the proper management of time/attendance, disciplinary actions, promotion, labor reporting among other tasks to ensure the workforce is properly accounted for.
- Drive Operational Excellence: Implement and sustain lean manufacturing principles, identify process improvements, and contribute to increased efficiency and quality.
- LMS – Lean Management System – Ability to work in an environment with Tier meetings & leader standard work along with the ability to participate, lead and sustain lean manufacturing principles like 5S, TPM, material flow and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
- Identify and troubleshoot production bottlenecks, working closely with site leadership engineering and maintenance teams to resolve issues.
- Work load balancing and labor optimization through maintaining training matrices and labor plans for the area’s of responsibility.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPI’s), driving actions to improve throughput, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
- Ensure Quality & Safety: Maintain strict adherence to quality standards and safety regulations, fostering a culture of accountability.
- Responsible for the adherence and enforcement of all safety standards for the team supervised.
- Ensure adherence to quality standards, specifications, and testing protocols for chiller production.
- Collaborate with quality control teams to address defects, implement corrective actions, and enhance overall product reliability.
- Maintain strict compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies.
- Monitor Production Metrics: Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and take proactive steps to address bottlenecks or inefficiencies.
- Drive daily accountability through the Tier meeting process to ensure that all levels of information flow in the factory are accurate and driving continuous learning and improvement.
- Collaborate Across Departments: Work closely with engineering, quality, and supply chain teams to troubleshoot issues, improve workflows and drive continuous improvement.
- Support new product introductions and product changes, ensuring proper training and implementation on the production floor.
- Communicate effectively with leadership and staff, providing regular updates on production status and challenges.
- Learn & Grow: Take advantage of mentorship and training opportunities to develop the skills needed for future leadership roles within operations.
- Participate and learn from the Site leadership team how to lead a team and effectively ensure process and production method adherence for the team.
- Receive supervisor training from corporate training resources.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical) or related field preferred, or equivalent experience in manufacturing leadership.
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing or production environment, preferably in HVAC, refrigeration, or related industries.
- Strong motivation to lead, take ownership, and make an impact on production operations.
- Analytical thinking with a drive to identify and implement process improvements.
- Familiarity with chiller systems, refrigeration components, and manufacturing processes is a plus.
- Strong team management, coaching, and problem-solving skills, with a hands-on approach to leadership.
- Experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally.
