Operations Specialist – Logistics and Warehouse – Reedsburg, WI
Duties And Responsibilities
- Sound Devices is a dynamic company searching for a motivated and versatile individual to support our Logistics & Warehouse.
- Shipping & Receiving:
- Unpack, inspect, and document inbound customer returns and RMA units in accordance with established SOPs; serves as backup S&R Coordinator
- Clean, refurbish, and prepare outbound customer return shipments for domestic and international destinations; serves as backup S&R Coordinator
- Pick, pack, and process customer orders accurately using FedEx and UPS shipping platforms; apply appropriate carrier labels and shipping documentation
- Handle outbound shipments including staging, palletizing, labeling, and carrier handoff; coordinate parcel and freight (LTL) pickups to ensure accurate and on-time dispatch
- Prepare and process AES Electronic Export Information (EEI), Customs Declaration Forms, and Commercial Invoices for international shipments as directed
- Receiving:
- Receive inbound purchase orders (POs) against ERP records in Syteline and reconcile discrepancies; serves as backup S&R Clerk
- Maintain accurate inventory of packing materials, outbound shipments, and inbound receipts; support packaging and labeling compliance for domestic and export requirements
- Support inbound receiving inspection coordination; report discrepancies, shortages, or damage to the appropriate team and update ERP records accordingly
- Warehouse Operations:
- Execute accurate ERP transactions including goods receipts, inventory adjustments, stock transfers, and work order material movements
- Maintain organized and accurate warehouse inventory; support cycle counting and periodic physical inventory audits to ensure record integrity
- Manage storage locations and bin assignments to maximize space utilization and ensure proper material segregation (raw materials, WIP, finished goods, and quarantine)
- Support inbound receiving inspection coordination; report discrepancies, shortages, or damage to the appropriate team and update ERP records accordingly
- Facilities & IT Support (As Capacity Allows):
- Assist with facility maintenance, layout changes, network cabling, and IT hardware support as directed by the Facilities and IT Managers
Required Skills & Abilities
- The Operations Specialist must have the ability to work quickly and efficiently across multiple departments.
- Must be willing to learn and use Salesforce, RAP, Syteline, Word, and Excel.
- Must be able to shift priorities on short notice, remain flexible, and maintain impeccable attention to detail in each area of responsibility.
- The successful candidate will have excellent organizational skills and maintain a strong, professional rapport with all internal departments and external customers.
Required Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree or vocational/technical certification preferred
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a shipping & receiving, warehouse, or general operations role
- Demonstrated ability to operate FedEx Ship Manager, UPS WorldShip, or equivalent carrier platforms
- Familiarity with ERP systems; RAP, Salesforce, and other internal tools
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to lift and move items up to 50 lbs unassisted; comfortable performing physical tasks throughout the shift
- Strong commitment to accuracy, detail orientation, and process compliance
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in manufacturing, electronics assembly, or professional audio/video environment
- Familiarity with export compliance documentation (AES/EEI, Commercial Invoices, ECCN classifications)
- Basic knowledge of ESD handling procedures and controlled-environment protocols
- Experience with warehouse operations including cycle counting, bin management, or ERP inventory transactions
- Forklift or powered industrial truck certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Valid driver’s license preferred
