Operations Specialist, Bluebikes
About the role
Lyft Urban Solutions operates six bikeshare systems across the country, including Bluebikes, the Boston area’s public bike share system. As the Operations Specialist, you will support the General Manager of Bluebikes in developing and executing operational plans with a focus on service quality, operational excellence, continuous improvement, and the overall customer experience. You’ll engage in hands-on problem solving while tackling big-picture projects to improve the Bluebikes system.
Responsibilities
- Ensure smooth daily field operations: monitor performance, create and refine playbooks and SOPs, support workforce planning, oversee aspects of contractor relationship management, and perform occasional quality checks in the field and depot.
- Conduct deep-dive analysis to identify root causes of issues, using insights from field operations and data to collaborate with teams, implement solutions, and drive performance improvements.
- Own end-to-end processes like invoicing and asset tracking to support the success of the business.
- Audit performance of functional areas against SLAs, proactively identifying and escalating risks and inefficiencies.
- Support the Bluebikes team in maintaining relationships with city partners and addressing market-specific operational issues or special projects.
- Communicate clearly and confidently with stakeholders, clients, and vendors, tackling challenging conversations when necessary.
- Manage shifting priorities effectively, adapting to dynamic needs while maintaining a positive, solution-oriented attitude.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or 4+ years of experience overseeing operations in a complex, fast-moving, rapidly changing environment such as a distribution warehouse, marketplace, or delivery operation.
- Experience using Google Sheets and other data analysis tools to identify inefficiencies and propose solutions.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail, with an ability to understand the bigger context of your work.
- Proven track record of data-based problem-solving with the ability to think on your feet.
Nice to have
- Experience in a warehouse or hands-on operations environment.
- Strong interest in biking, bikeshare, sustainable transportation, and city planning.
- Familiarity with AI tools to strengthen day-to-day productivity.

Schedule
This role is in-office on a hybrid schedule — team members will be expected to work in the office 3 days per week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Hybrid roles also have the flexibility to work from anywhere for up to 4 weeks per year.
Pay
The expected base pay range for this position in the Boston area is $66,240 - $82,800, not inclusive of potential equity offering, bonus, or benefits.
