About the role

Amazon is seeking an Operations / Senior Operations Manager to oversee operations across multiple fulfillment centers, sortation hubs, and last-mile delivery centers. The role involves defining, building, and executing processes, managing a motivated workforce, coordinating with various teams, conducting performance appraisals, and continuously improving operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Define, build, and execute processes across fulfillment centers, sortation hubs, and last-mile delivery centers.
  • Hire, train, and build a highly motivated workforce for sort hubs, supporting HR and training teams to meet operational requirements and maintain high quality and productivity standards.
  • Ensure sufficient capacity for peak times and coordinate with finance, delivery stations, FC, and projects teams on operational matters.
  • Conduct performance appraisals and mentor team members to handle efficient operations.
  • Continuously improve defined processes and maintain a sustained performance standard.
  • Initiate improvements to enhance quality standards, reduce waste, and eliminate unnecessary work.
  • Analyze data reports to identify performance bottlenecks and implement strategies to improve performance.
  • Drive key initiatives related to safety, engagement, network speed, and cost optimization.
  • Lead daily stand-ups, WBRs, MBRs, and peak preparedness calls.
  • Implement process improvement mechanisms such as Kaizen and Continuous Improvement.
  • Review and finalize labor plans to optimize costs while maintaining high performance standards and associate experience.
  • Coach and guide Ops managers to foster a culture of continuous improvement and reduce waste in collaboration with central program teams.
  • Liaise with other site leads and regional leaders to benchmark best practices and deploy them on the floor.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in operations, logistics, or supply chain.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

Qualifications

  • Well-rounded leadership capabilities and strong people management skills.
  • Ability to adapt to evolving situations and work in ambiguous environments.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong analytical skills to effectively analyze and interpret information, identify key facts, and make informed decisions.
