Duties include operational involvement, urgent and preventative maintenance of ready-mix plants, capital project budgeting and implementation, special projects and initiatives, production efficiency, and employee leadership with a strong emphasis on safety and environmental compliance. This position works closely with other departments, i.e., Sales, Finance, Environmental, Safety and Human Resources. Medical, Dental, Visionlow-cost premiums even for family coverageCompany-paid life/AD&D insuranceCompany-paid short-term disabilityPaid sick/vacation/holiday401k/Company Funded Pension Program (program is dependent upon location and job type)Employee Assistance Program (EAP)Additional voluntary benefits Compensation $130k - $145k DOE Responsibilities Oversee the maintenance and projects for all ready-mix operationsManage Plant Maintenance employees, electricians, and construction crewSafety and development of all personnel, including training, certifications, staffing recommendations, performance, coaching, employee grievances and complaints, and pay changesProductivity reporting and analysisEnvironmental, OSHA, MSHA, Department of Transportation (DOT), and other regulatory complianceResponsible for Capital project budgeting and implementationClose collaboration with Operations Manager in areas of goal setting, customer service, and staff developmentDirect, coach, and develop employees, and ensure company policy compliance Education High school diploma/GEDBachelor’s degree in STEM, Transportation, Logistics, Operations, Business Management, Engineering, or equivalent experience preferredAny relevant operations management certifications, i.e., industry-specific management training Requirements/Qualifications Minimum 5-7 years of experience running a ready-mix operation, including ancillary functions such as yard production and product deliveryExperience managing and maintaining plant equipmentExperience with OSHA/MSHA regulations and requirementsExperience with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and requirementsExperience managing groups of employees in separate locations, as required for assigned locationsPersonnel management experience, i.e., hiring and selection, performance reviews, discipline, and legal compliance requirementsKnowledge of office systems, including knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, and other Microsoft Office software packagesStrong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skillsStrong oral and written communication skillsAbility to: stoop, bend, squat, lift (50 pounds frequently, 75 pounds occasionally), stretch, push, drive, pull, twist, kneel, stand, walk, sit, reach, and the manual dexterity to operate a computer keyboardTeam player with an ability to multi-task and set prioritiesAttention to detail; results-oriented mentalityMust adhere to the company drug and alcohol policy Preferred Experience with SAP Conditions of Employment Successful candidate must submit to a post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check. Some positions require Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) registration/clearance as well as ongoing alcohol and drug testing.
