Operations Project Management

This role oversees and manages the operational aspects of projects with a focus on part procurement and tracking, serving as liaison between project management, planning, project team, engineering, global supply chain, and line management. The position requires performing CAM duties, including forecasting invoices, managing procurement budgets, and EVMS reporting on cost or schedule issues regarding part procurement and supplier deliverables.
Responsibilities
- Review engineering documentation (drawings and/or parts lists) to understand procurement requirements of part number, quantity, and supplier specifications.
- Reconcile Engineering BOM and Procurement BOM artifacts to own the master list of parts that need to be ordered and forecasted.
- Respond to Global Supply Chain requests for data calls (pull drawings, parts lists, engineering models) and facilitate communication between Global Supply Chain and Engineering to get suppliers on award and resolve issues.
- Resolve supply chain hurdles by advocating part substitutions (initiate workflows for engineering review) and communicate challenges to program management or buyers to overcome issues such as requesting expedite approvals or resolving supplier roadblocks.
- Forecast when invoices are expected to hit the books, investigate invoice delays, and address SPI/CPI discrepancies regarding part procurement.
- Collaborate with associated teams, navigate processes, provide status updates, and direct all part procurement duties from released engineering artifacts to ensuring kits are ready for installation on aircraft.
- Assess procurement issues, including long lead items and alternate approvals, and develop resolutions to meet program goals and objectives.
- Develop mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem-solving with project managers, line managers, and clients.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of experience, a Master’s degree, or 6 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
- Experience must be in one or more of the following: Project/Program Management, Business Management, Price/Cost, Finance, Data Analytics, or Subcontracts.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to obtain and/or transfer and maintain a final adjudicated U.S. Government Secret clearance and any required program access within a reasonable period.
- Travel required: 10% of the time.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in SAP.
- Active U.S. Government Secret level clearance.
- Demonstrated communication skills dealing with customers and suppliers.
Pay
Primary level salary range: $62,100.00 – $93,100.00. The range represents a general guideline; base salary offers consider factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s experience, education, skills, and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses reward individual contributions and allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
