About the Role
The Operations Project Manager will play a pivotal role in mastering, implementing, optimizing, and supporting laboratory information systems (LIMS) and other operation's technology tools across our organization. This role combines project management, technical expertise, and data analysis to ensure smooth adoption of systems, accurate reporting, and operational excellence. The Operations Project Manager will serve as a super user and key liaison between lab teams, IT, and leadership, helping shape processes and provide guidance during system rollouts. Additionally, this role will assist executive operations by providing strategic support and may be assigned special projects as needed, contributing to organizational priorities and initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Project Manager of LIMS across multiple lab locations, coordinating with internal teams and external vendors.
- Develop and maintain executive dashboards, KPI reporting, and data analytics tools to support operational decision-making.
- Spearhead the rollout of new technologies with select teams.
- Act as a LIMS super-user, providing guidance, training, and occasional remote support to labs as needed.
- Collaborate with leadership to recommend process improvements and support system enhancements.
- Maintain project schedules, track milestones, and ensure accountability across implementation teams.
- Support labs during periods of staffing challenges or system transitions, ensuring continuity of operations.
- Participate in strategic discussions regarding future technology needs and operational efficiencies.
- Travel as required for system rollouts, training sessions, and implementation support.
Requirements
- High school diploma; plus, two years of related experience or a bachelor's degree
- Basic knowledge of principles, terminology, practices, techniques, and instrumentation commonly used in a laboratory setting
- Ability to effectively prioritize work and manage time to meet deadlines and rush orders
- Computer literacy
- Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats
- Proven experience as a LIMS super-user or in laboratory systems implementation
- Strong project management skills with a track record of leading cross-functional initiatives
- Experience with BI/dashboard platforms and data analytics tools
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and maintain flexibility in dynamic environments
- Trustworthiness, reliability, and a forward-thinking approach to technology and processes
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in laboratory operations or related technical environments
- Knowledge of regulatory and compliance standards in laboratory settings
