About the role
This role will be performed full-time on site at a BAE Systems facility, requiring consistent, in-person collaboration. The Ops Program Manager will provide leadership and direction of complex Operations programs, ensuring the accomplishment of program goals through the efficient and effective utilization of Operations resources.
Responsibilities
- Provide a single point of contact between Operations and the Program office for providing program status and resolving problems
- Presents Operations status to customer, Program Management, and/or Operations Management as required
- Coordinate preparation of estimates for all Operations functions by requesting input from appropriate Operations sources
- Ensure that the operation team provides a competitively priced, accurate, supportable cost proposal within time and budget constraints
- Interface with the appropriate organizations within Operations to ensure any changes that will impact assigned tasks have been appropriately communicated and addressed
- Plan all Operations functions in a manner consistent with the Statement of work negotiated with the customer and applicable Management Directives and Practices
- Support Operations position during audits, fact-finding, and negotiations by participating with Program Management in all phases
- Maintain state-of-the-art knowledge by keeping abreast of new procedures and methods to streamline manufacturing processes
- Furnish support to the Appropriate Program Manager for monthly management reviews and support Program Management and Engineering to discuss customer and program issues
- Generate and execute the Manufacturing Plan, which provides the ground rules of the contract requirements to Operations in compliance with Service Level Agreements
- Review and approve all change orders, parts lists, and monitor and provide direction to the supply chain planner and focus factory buyer, production test, manufacturing, inspection, and shipping
- Chair a Tier team meeting weekly to discuss and resolve any issues that arise during the production cycle
- Responsible for monitoring and reviewing material cost, as well as cost performance index for all assigned programs
- Manage vendors during production cycle, including on-site visits to confirm program status and review recovery plans where required
- Review pricing on purchase orders to ensure programs follow the proposed pricing to stay within budget constraints of the program
- Support customer visits, proposals, and future business, and maintain a sound understanding of theories and practices in a constantly evolving environment
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Strong problem-solving, accountable leadership, and influencing skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, work complex issues, and ensure team meets deadlines
- Ability to manage through changes in priorities
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, MS Project)
- Results-oriented, ability to follow through on tasks, influence without authority, experience driving senior-level decision making
- Demonstrated Verbal and Written Communications Skills, Strong Presentation Skills
Preferred Qualifications
- 5 Years or more of Aerospace experience
- Master’s Degree, PMP, Lean, Agile, or Six Sigma certification
- Familiarity or ability to learn manufacturing systems, SAP, Solumina, and Tableau
- Experience working in a represented workforce environment
- Acute problem-solving and analytical abilities, including process improvements or program management techniques
Pay
Full-Time Salary Range: $105,827 - $179,906. Please note that this range is based on market pay structures, and individual salaries are determined by various factors, including business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications.
