Operations Manager – Wastewater Treatment Plant
for sections like About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule. Only include sections that have real specific content. Must not repeat job title. Must not include Job ID etc. Remove boilerplate, EEO, etc. Must preserve all substantive info.
We need to parse the posting.
Key content:
- Intro: Waggoner Engineering, Inc. is seeking an Operations Manager to lead wastewater treatment operations in Greenville, Mississippi. This key leadership role is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of the Greenville Wastewater Treatment Plant and collection system while supporting the essential infrastructure that serves the local community. The ideal candidate will bring strong operational leadership, a commitment to environmental stewardship, and a focus on continuous improvement in wastewater treatment and utility operations. The Operations Manager is responsible for the overall operation, maintenance, compliance, safety, and performance of the Greenville Wastewater Treatment Plant and associated collection system assets. This position provides leadership to plant operations staff, ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local environmental regulations, manages budgets and resources, and drives continuous improvement initiatives to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable wastewater treatment operations. The Operations Manager serves as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies, municipal leadership, and internal stakeholders.
- Essential Duties And Responsibilities: list with subheadings: Plant Operations & Compliance, Leadership & Staff Management, Safety & Risk Management, Financial & Asset Management, Client & Community Relations.
Under each bullet list items.
- Must reside within a 30-minute travel time of the Greenville Wastewater Treatment Plant and be able to respond to on-call and emergency situations within the required timeframe. (This is a requirement.)
- Required Qualifications: Education, Experience, Licenses & Certifications, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities.
- Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): list.
- Waggoner Core Expectations: list.
- Why Join Our Team About: includes bullet list of benefits: WEI Incentive Program, Healthy Workplace Program, Employee Referral Bonus, Competitive Health Benefits, Career Development and Training, Flexible/Hybrid Schedule, Community Service Opportunities.
- EEO statement to remove.
Thus we need sections: About the role (intro), Responsibilities (essential duties), Requirements (maybe combine Education, Experience, Licenses & Certifications, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities?), Qualifications (maybe same as Requirements?), Skills (maybe part of Knowledge, Skills & Abilities), Benefits (Why Join Our Team), Pay (none given, so omit), Schedule (Flexible/Hybrid Schedule mentioned under benefits; but schedule is part of benefits; we could include Schedule section if we have specific schedule info: "Flexible/Hybrid Schedule". That's a schedule detail. According to rules: include Schedule section only if posting actually states them. It does state Flexible/Hybrid Schedule under benefits. So we could have a Schedule section with that detail. However we also have Benefits section that includes other benefits. Could combine but rule: prefer few substantive sections over many thin ones. Could merge Benefits and Schedule into one Benefits section that includes schedule as a bullet. But they said use headings for Benefits, Pay, Schedule separately if content exists. Since we have schedule info, we could include Schedule section. But we also have other benefits. Might be better to have Benefits section with list, and Schedule subsection? But only allowed headings . Could have Benefits section with list including schedule item. That would satisfy schedule info without separate heading. The rule: "never create Pay/Schedule/Benefits sections unless the posting actually states them." It does state schedule (Flexible/Hybrid Schedule). So we could create a Schedule section with that detail. But then we would also have Benefits section with other benefits. That's two sections. That's okay.
We must not invent or summarize away detail. Must preserve all substantive info. So we need to include all bullet points.
Let's structure:
About the role
About the role
... intro paragraphs ...

Requirements
Must reside within a 30-minute travel time of the Greenville Wastewater Treatment Plant and be able to respond to on-call and emergency situations within the required timeframe.
Then Education, Experience, Licenses & Certifications, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities could be under Qualifications or Skills. Since we have a Qualifications heading allowed, we can put Education, Experience, Licenses & Certifications under Qualifications. And Knowledge, Skills & Abilities under Skills. Thus:Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Biology, Chemistry, Water Resources, or related field preferred.
- Experience: Experience managing regulatory compliance, operations staff, and maintenance programs. Municipal wastewater treatment experience preferred.
- Licenses & Certifications: Mississippi Wastewater Operator Certification (Class IV preferred or ability to obtain within a specified timeframe). Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record. OSHA and safety-related certifications preferred.
Skills
- Thorough knowledge of wastewater treatment processes, equipment, laboratory testing, and process control.

- Ability to interpret operational data and make sound process-control decisions.
- Strong leadership, communication, and team development skills.

- Ability to respond to emergencies and serve in an on-call capacity when required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, SCADA systems, CMMS software, and operational reporting tools.
Performance Expectations
with two sublists: KPIs and Core Expectations. But headings limited to the list: About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule. We cannot add custom headings like Performance Expectations. So we need to fit KPIs and Core Expectations into existing allowed headings. Perhaps they go under Responsibilities (as part of duties) or under Qualifications/Skills? They are performance metrics and core expectations; could be placed under Responsibilities as part of duties? But they are not duties; they are expectations. However we could put them under Responsibilities as they relate to performance. The rule: "Prefer a few substantive sections over many thin ones." So we could add them under Responsibilities as additional bullet items. But they'd be separate from the duty categories. Could add a sublist under Responsibilities: "Performance Metrics" and "Core Expectations". That seems okay. Alternatively, we could create a Benefits section for the Why Join Our Team benefits, and a Schedule section for Flexible/Hybrid Schedule. The KPIs and Core Expectations could be placed under Responsibilities as they are part of the role's expectations. Thus under Responsibilities we can add after the duty categories a sublist: "Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)" and "Waggoner Core Expectations". We'll need to keep the content. Let's incorporate. Under Responsibilities- we already have li items for each duty category. After those, we can add another li for KPIs with sublist, and another li for Core Expectations with sublist.
Now Benefits: we have list: WEI Incentive Program, Healthy Workplace Program, Employee Referral Bonus, Competitive Health Benefits, Career Development and Training, Flexible/Hybrid Schedule, Community Service Opportunities.
We need Benefits section. Since schedule is part of benefits, we could just include schedule item there and not create separate Schedule section. That would satisfy schedule info without extra heading. The rule: "never create Pay/Schedule/Benefits sections unless the posting actually states them." It does state schedule, but we are including schedule within Benefits, which is okay because we are not creating a separate Schedule section. The rule doesn't forbid including schedule info inside Benefits. It just says don't create a Schedule section unless posting actually states them. Since we are not creating a Schedule section, it's fine.
Thus we will have Benefits section with those items.
Pay: not stated, so omit.
Schedule: not separate section.
Now we need to ensure we didn't miss any substantive info: The intro paragraphs include multiple sentences; we need to preserve all. We'll combine into a
maybe multiple
but we can put all in one
. Ensure we didn't drop any detail like "This position provides leadership to plant operations staff, ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local environmental regulations, manages budgets and resources, and drives continuous improvement initiatives to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable wastewater treatment operations." etc. We'll include all. Now check for boilerplate removal: EEO statement removed. Also "Why Join Our Team About" heading we will treat as Benefits section. The phrase "About We know work isn't only about what you do, it's also about who you work for and with!" is part of the Why Join Our Team intro; we can include that as a
