Operations Manager (Snohomish Yard)

Location: Snohomish – 1161 Recology King County – Broadway Yard

About the role

Oversees the operations department, including day‑to‑day supervision of Operations Supervisors and the operations service function. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.

Responsibilities

• Manage operations of the site consistent with established operating plans.
• Confirm employee assignments are allocated for efficient and effective operations.
• Monitor work to ensure safe, efficient, effective, and compliant operations.
• Establish that all employees are properly trained and licensed (if applicable) to operate and/or maintain all equipment.
• Ensure policies, procedures, and collective bargaining agreements (as applicable) are followed.
• Identify potential rule infractions and implement corrective actions or processes to avoid future infractions.
• Maintain and generate records of operations and submit reports as directed.
• Generate and analyze operational reports and make recommendations as appropriate.
• Investigate and resolve customer inquiries and complaints not resolved by subordinates; adjust rate and billing disputes as necessary.
• Prepare or assist in preparing budgets and plans for equipment and staffing.
• Work directly with government/city staff on behalf of the company as needed.
• Represent the company in community activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Management experience in an industrial, construction, manufacturing, recycling/waste‑management environment, or related industry.
• Knowledge of employee training, supervision, and evaluation principles.
• Experience with supervisory techniques, resource allocation, planning, and budgeting.
• Valid driver’s license required.
