- Adequate staffing levels, equipment availability, and material readiness to meet daily and weekly production targets.
- Review production performance data and operational metrics; prepare regular reports on schedule adherence, output, and area-level KPIs for senior operations leadership.
- Monitor WIP flow, production output, and equipment utilization across shifts; identify and resolve bottlenecks in real time to sustain throughput and schedule commitments.
- Consistently deliver high-quality output to internal and downstream customers; reinforce a floor culture where quality, schedule, and material flow are treated as equally non-negotiable.
Production Planning & Scheduling Oversight
- Oversee production planning and scheduling functions including master scheduling, shop scheduling and dispatching, WIP tracking, material requirements coordination, and manufacturing performance reporting.
- Manage the planning team to ensure schedules are accurate, achievable, and aligned to material availability, capacity, and customer commitments.
- Approve quantities, schedules, and parts lists provided to the material control organization to ensure timely and complete ordering, receipt, and issuance of production material requirements.
- Review and develop production planning procedures; identify and implement improvements to scheduling systems, ERP workflows, and dispatching practices using SAP, MES, and related tools.
- Communicate schedule risks, status, and recovery plans to senior operations leadership in a timely and structured manner; drive resolution of planning conflicts across functions.
Logistics & Material Flow Oversight
- Oversee production logistics operations including shipping, receiving, inventory control, and internal material movement to ensure uninterrupted flow of materials to and from the production floor.
- Manage the Logistics/Shipping Supervisor and associated team; set expectations for accuracy, throughput, and compliance with shipping, receiving, and inventory handling procedures.
- Cookware with materials and supply chain functions on inventory control, purchasing support, and inbound/outbound shipment alignment to prevent production disruptions.
- Monitor WMS and SAP inventory data to ensure accuracy of on-hand quantities, locations, and material status; drive cycle count compliance and discrepancy resolution.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable shipping regulations, export control requirements, and customer packaging and labeling specifications.
Quality Compliance & Process Adherence
- Enforce adherence to operating procedures, control plans, and process specifications across all assigned production areas; ensure deviations are escalated and documented through the NCR/NCMR process.
- Foster a culture of discipline and a systems approach to problem solving; participate in root cause analysis activities (5 Whys, 8D) tied to CARs and nonconformances.
- Support spot audits to verify procedural compliance; document findings and drive timely closure of identified gaps.
- Support internal and external quality audit readiness (ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and customer); ensure records, personnel, and process execution are audit-ready within areas of responsibility.
