Operations Manager - Production
About the Role
Hyperion Solutions is a technology-driven vertical transportation solution provider headquartered in Memphis, Tennessee, with offices across the United States. We are seeking an experienced Plant/Site Manager to join our Richmond, IN team, supporting our Elevator Equipment Corporation brand. This role reports to the General Manager and leads all day-to-day operations at the EECO Richmond manufacturing facility, including Production, Safety, Quality, Supply Chain, Facilities, and on-site Engineering coordination.
The Plant Manager ensures operational excellence, develops high-performing teams, and drives continuous improvement, safety, on-time delivery, and customer satisfaction. This position provides broader site leadership and cross-functional ownership while remaining execution-focused and site-centric.
Responsibilities
- Lead all day-to-day manufacturing operations, including production, shipping and receiving, materials flow, and facility oversight.
- Translate business objectives into plant-level execution plans and performance goals.
- Monitor production schedules, capacity, WIP, and on-time delivery; implement corrective actions as needed.
- Manage and allocate resources (people, equipment, materials) to ensure efficient, high-quality output.
- Partner with supply chain and engineering teams to support production planning and execution.
- Establish and sustain a culture where quality is embedded in all processes and behaviors.
- Ensure products meet or exceed customer expectations through strong quality systems and controls.
- Lead root cause analysis, corrective actions, and reduction of scrap and rework.
- Drive Lean Manufacturing initiatives, including 5S, standard work, waste reduction, and flow improvements.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to implement best practices and measurable performance improvements.
- Lead, coach, and develop supervisors, leads, and department managers.
- Foster a positive, accountable, and engaged work environment.
- Ensure effective onboarding, training, cross-training, and succession planning.
- Drive performance management, employee development, and retention efforts.
- Model Hyperion’s values and lead change initiatives at the site level.
- Own site-level safety performance and promote a proactive, prevention-focused safety culture.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, environmental, and company safety standards.
- Lead safety training, audits, and corrective actions to maintain a safe work environment.
- Partner with customer-facing teams to support delivery commitments and resolve site-level issues.
- Monitor and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) related to safety, quality, delivery, cost, and engagement.
- Analyze performance trends and implement action plans to close gaps and improve results.
- Oversee facility operations, equipment reliability, and preventive maintenance programs.
- Ensure equipment uptime and coordinate repairs and capital improvement needs.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient plant environment.
- Partner with Finance, HR, Engineering, and Sales through matrix relationships to support site performance.
- Support new product introductions, process changes, and growth initiatives.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- BS/BA in Engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration, or equivalent experience required.
- 7+ years of manufacturing operations experience, including multi-function plant leadership.
- Prior experience leading supervisors or managers required.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality systems, inventory management, and Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Elevator industry or highly engineered product experience preferred.
