About the role
This position leads and manages a branch office, providing quality service to members in account transactions, loan applications, and new accounts. The role also acts as the manager in the absence of the Branch Manager.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a highly motivated, well-trained staff, maintaining effective employee relations.
- Open and close the branch.
- Complete monthly branch schedule to ensure adequate staff for efficient branch operation.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures.
- Ensure the branch is compliant with federal and state laws and agency regulations.
- Monitor and track branch activity, including number of transactions, consumer loan volume, and new memberships and cross sell activity, while monitoring errors.
- Coach/Counsel staff as necessary in these areas.
- Manage the security and safety of the branch.
- Analyze and monitor security and safety policies and procedures on an on-going basis.
- Ensure that staff receives on-going training on security and robbery procedures.
- Process, approve and/or close loans in accordance within established policies and guidelines.
- Maintain an adequate supply of starter checks and cashier’s checks in the branch.
- Aid staff or members in solving complex account problems.
- Maintain Credit Union benchmark score or above member surveys.
- Maintain ongoing coaching and counseling with team as necessary.
- Serve as main vault custodian for the branch, which includes ordering the cash and currency, verifying cash received, maintaining full vault security, and balancing vault cash nightly.
- Investigate teller losses and institute corrective flow of work and/or corrective disciplinary actions where required.
- Responsible for ensuring all operational reports are completed and delivered to the Retail Director and Operations Support Specialist by the 5th day of each month.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Education/Certification: High school graduate or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Required Knowledge: Thorough knowledge of credit union or banking products and services. Knowledge of branch functions, policies and procedures.
- Experience Required: Minimum of three (3) years sales experience. Previous management/supervisory experience preferred.

Work Environment
Work is generally carried out in a typical open office setting.
Physical Requirements
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit at a desk and in meetings for long periods of time on a continuous basis; intermittently twist to reach equipment surrounding desk;
