About the role
The Operations Manager shares responsibility for overseeing the complete venue, including staff management, money management, reporting, sales goals, inter-office communications, and upholding company policies and procedures. This role assists in recruiting, interviewing, hiring, training, and evaluating personnel, as well as developing and motivating staff to meet performance standards. The Operations Manager addresses patron questions and complaints and ensures the venue’s cleanliness, compliance, and overall appearance.
Responsibilities
- Continually develop staff, including Floor Supervisors, in managerial and professional growth.
- Assist with recruitment, training, testing, and coaching of staff.
- Help create and meet sales goals while promoting teamwork through proactive interaction.
- Utilize effective time management and follow-up skills.
- Accommodate and anticipate guest needs while ensuring service standards meet company guidelines.
- Accurately forecast staffing needs to ensure optimum customer service.
- Oversee successful execution of private events, catering, and banquets.
- Control cash and receipts by adhering to cash handling procedures.
- Prepare required paperwork, including forms, reports, and schedules.
- Ensure equipment is clean and in working condition through inspections and preventative maintenance.
- Verify products are received according to venue policies and procedures.
- Conduct conflict resolution, corrective actions, and coaching.
- Oversee and ensure timely completion of employee performance appraisals.
- Comply with all federal, state, and municipal regulations for health, safety, and labor.
- Ensure nightly and weekly opening/closing duties are followed.
- Fill in where needed to maintain guest service standards and efficient operations.
- Provide administrative support and promote mutual company growth with partners.
- Recognize and address intoxicated or disruptive guests, complying with all liquor laws and safety procedures.

Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent (College degree preferred).
- 3-5 years of experience in the entertainment industry, specifically in high-volume restaurants/bars.
- Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- 21+ years of age.
- Possession of or ability to obtain all state-required work cards.
- Maintain a professional, neat, and well-groomed appearance adhering to company standards.
Skills & Knowledge
- Proficient in Windows Office and Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of POS and back-office reporting systems.
- Understanding of profitability analysis, budgeting, cost of sales, and payroll management.
- Knowledge of bar/restaurant operations, fine dining procedures, and beverage service.
- Familiarity with purchasing, receiving, inventories, and cost controls for bar products.
- Knowledge of special events, banquets, and state/local laws regarding liquor, labor, and health codes.
