Operations Manager, Fleet Services

This position requires a strong leader to manage a fully functioning team, providing leadership to take charge of challenging projects, encourage teamwork, and supply the energy and enthusiasm required to achieve company goals and objectives. Responsibilities

• Safety/Hazard Recognition & Elimination: observe habits and hazards, pre-plan methods to eliminate hazards, and uphold safety as the most important goal
• Profitability Productivity: oversee process improvement, manage fleet operations, and achieve minimum productivity requirements
• Growth: prospect for leads, plan and monitor forecasts, and develop programs and strategies
• Planning And Monitoring: forecast weekly tasks, analyze factors affecting results, and develop appropriate programs and supervision
• Problem Solving: troubleshoot fleet problems and execute coordination of day-to-day department activities
• Operations: work closely with the Director of Operations, lead a team of supervisors and administrators, and oversee the acquisition and outfitting of new vehicles
• Employee Satisfaction: provide overall leadership, act as a team player, and provide necessary communication to direct reports

Qualifications

This position requires a decisive leader with a passion for hands-on work in outdoor environments and a strong drive for construction project management work. A high school education is required, and a two-year technical or four-year related degree or equivalent experience is preferred.

The ideal candidate must be able to work independently, meet deadlines and budgets, and fulfill all job requirements in a timely fashion. They should be willing and capable of completing personal development plans and have a desire to learn and grow personally and professionally.

Skills And Abilities

• 5-10 years prior experience, preferably in construction, renewable energy, or road construction/DOT field
• Knowledge of estimating, scheduling, and budget processes
• Ability to manage risk and profitability successfully
• Positive safety attitude and personal integrity
• Highly customer-service oriented, with the ability to create new and maintain current customers
• Ability to effectively utilize basic Microsoft products such as Word, Excel, and Outlook

Physical Requirements

The role involves an office and field environment, requiring sitting and standing, with travel to various work sites exposing the employee to outdoor elements, noise, and the need to stand and walk.
