Operations Manager & EHS Coordination, Americas Region
About the role
Polynt Composites USA is a global leader in the manufacturing of composites, coatings, and chemical intermediates, serving key industries such as industrial, transportation, construction, marine, medical, and consumer goods. The Operations Manager & HSE (EHS) Coordinator is responsible for managing HSE, production, plant infrastructure, capital spending, quality, and environmental compliance of the Polynt Composites Americas plants. They oversee the management of all Facilities’ activities and supervise 9 direct reports.
Job Responsibilities
- Ensure 15 plants are maintained and operated at a competitive cost.
- Schedule production to meet customer demand.
- Maintain plants according to quality directives and guidelines.
- Create a culture of continuous improvement in the plants.
- Develop programs to reduce plant usage of electricity, natural gas, and water.
- Establish and enforce safety protocols to prevent losses and minimize waste.
- Maintain security and control plant access.
- Measure, report progress, and take action to achieve company objectives.
- Develop and monitor annual capital spending budgets and priorities for all sites.
- Monitor progress of capital projects.
- Foster a business culture within the department that is customer-focused, fast-paced, results-oriented, and open to new ideas.
- Evaluate performance and behavior of department through one-on-one performance reviews.
- Maintain and encourage productive working relationships with and develop team members by keeping staff adequately informed and delegating responsibilities as necessary.
- Identify and ensure continual growth of future leadership within the organization.
- Promote a workforce culture that aligns with Polynt Code of Conduct, including personal character, loyalty, attentiveness, and respect and value of fellow employees.
- Administer consistent coaching and cultivation of team members to build motivation, productivity, and performance.
- Develop and monitor annual operating expense budgets.
- Implement and manage special purchasing projects, as required, by identifying and clarifying issues within the Company.
- Support safety and quality initiatives.
- Establish and ensure that the plants operate with a culture of safety.
- Comply with Loss Control policy, rules, permits, and directives.
- Comply with all relevant Polynt safety regulations as required at corporate and outlying facilities when traveling.
- Adhere to Company and governmental job safety practices, including wearing protective equipment and monitoring placement of machine guards when necessary.
- Ensure environmental compliance at all Company locations.
Experience and Skills
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in chemical or mechanical engineering.
- Master’s degree in engineering preferred.
- In the absence of an engineering degree, management experience may be considered.
- 7+ years of successful plant or operations management experience.
- Professional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to listen effectively, respond appropriately, and maintain mutual comfort level while relating to a multifaceted workforce.
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
- Strong leadership, team building, and management skills.
- Strong project management abilities including prioritization and administration of multiple, simultaneous projects.

Benefits
The salary range for this position is set at $180,000.00-$200,000.00. Compensation within the stated salary range will be based on the candidate’s experience, knowledge, skills, and qualifications relevant to the position.
