About the role
The Operations Manager assists the CSC Manager and oversees all operation associates, drivers, and technicians.
Responsibilities
- Promote safety as the top priority in all actions
- Assist in hiring and training operations associates, including Right Way Training, Driver Tablet training, and CSR process training
- Provide direction and guidance to operations associates, drivers, and technicians
- Manage processes and systems, reviewing and adjusting them to maintain efficient staffing and high utilization of company units
- Prioritize loads for timely delivery
- Work with fleet managers to assign loads to drivers fairly and equitably
- Provide efficient and friendly customer contact
- Control and complete required paperwork and reports
- Manage Fleet Manager schedules and desk assignments
- Communicate company and customer requirements to operations associates and drivers
- Stay updated on federal and state regulations
- Communicate with internal and external customers as needed
- Carry out additional duties assigned by the center or regional manager
- Support business development managers to grow the business
- Oversee overall CSC operations during the absence of the center manager
Requirements
- High School Education or equivalent
- One year of experience as a fleet manager in the transportation industry
Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of DOT regulations, federal, and state standards
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects
- Self-starter with detail-oriented work habits
- Able to maintain confidentiality
- Professional demeanor with strong interpersonal skills; able to work well with a wide range of individuals
- Dependability through good attendance and adherence to timelines and schedules
- Basic computer skills, including strong desktop and administrative abilities
- Knowledge of basic company employment policies and procedures
Physical Requirements
- Sitting for long periods of time, walking, finger dexterity, feeling, repetitive motions, and talking, hearing, and visual activity
- Occasional lifting (up to 20 pounds)
Working Conditions
Normal office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and copier/printer/scanners.
