Operations Manager
About the Role
Provide leadership and direction to ensure the continual, efficient, and uniform operation of the warehouse, meeting or exceeding customer expectations in a safe and orderly manner. Enforce existing or develop and implement new plans coordinated with branch and corporate management to increase reliability and continually improve the quality and efficiencies of products and services, while ensuring policies, procedures, and standards align with company goals.
This position requires travel up to 90% of the time as well as weekend flexibility. It involves direct work on the warehouse floor on or around heavy machinery and is identified as "safety sensitive" under applicable laws, requiring successful completion of pre-employment drug testing.
Responsibilities
- Ensure all functional areas operate within a culture of continual improvement, supporting corporate 6S and Lean initiatives.
- Execute and enforce plans and procedures to ensure the safety of all employees and visitors at facilities.
- Ensure operations and equipment comply with corporate guidelines and OSHA Standards.
- Follow preventive and corrective action methods to eliminate or correct procedures and practices that do not meet customer requirements.
- Clarify and correct incorrect operational procedures.
- Communicate and monitor progress toward company safety, returns and allowances, on-time shipment, and 6S/Lean directives.
- Evaluate and recommend new equipment purchases to enhance quality, capabilities, and productivity.
- Manage equipment maintenance to maximize availability and minimize downtime.
- Work with the Plant Manager or Department Leader to establish goals, assess competency, and direct operational output.
- Hire, train, motivate, and discipline warehouse employees as required.
- Purchase or direct the purchase of necessary warehouse supplies to comply with work instructions and customer requirements.
- Maintain frequent communication with Plant Managers and/or site Operations Representatives.
- Travel to and visit each site as required.
- Assist with customer problems, including on-site visits where necessary.
- Attend regional and corporate meetings when required.
- Perform employee reviews as required or requested.
- Perform other operational duties as requested by the Plant Manager.

Requirements
- 4-year degree (Business or Engineering discipline) or equivalent work/life experience.
- Demonstrated experience and/or training in labor relations, safety programs, ISO standards, Lean practices, and sales functions.
- Training in leadership skills, team building, motivation, strategic planning, finance, and time management.
- PC literacy, including competency with standard office automation and productivity software.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with all levels of the organization.

Pay
$90,000 - $95,000 annually.
