About the role
The Operations Manager drives consistent execution of business practices in-store. In partnership with the Store Manager, the Operations Manager exhibits sound reasoning and accurate judgment to support daily store operations, balancing front-of-house and back-of-house duties while engaging with employees and customers.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Store Manager to ensure the store adheres to company operational standards and guidelines, supporting efficient and cost-effective operations.
- Ensure compliance with all operational policies and procedures through collaboration with Retail Operations, Inventory Team, Finance, and other store teams.
- Facilitate store maintenance and repairs with external vendors and contractors, escalating issues to the Retail Operations Director and VP of Sales as needed.
- Manage inventory, including receiving shipments, executing routine cycle counts, handling store-to-store transfers, and addressing inventory discrepancies.
- Verify accuracy of merchandise and supply deliveries, reporting any discrepancies to relevant departments.
- Oversee and manage operations/stock positions in-store to ensure efficient processes and foster communication.
- Provide in-the-moment coaching and monthly touch bases for the store team’s ongoing development.
- Analyze sales reports and data to determine business needs and set strategies.
- Create and execute the store business plan to drive sales, KPI results, and maximize business opportunities, including CRM initiatives.
- Support Retail in rolling out new applications and updates to existing systems, including training stock/sales teams for compliance.
- Conduct regular loss prevention audits (CCTV, alarm, EAS) and address procedural issues to reduce loss.
- Oversee the annual physical inventory process, ensuring minimal loss and efficient operations with limited disruption.
- Cultivate relationships with operations leads and corporate partners to improve operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Manage store supply and in-store packaging levels, as well as merchandise repair processes.
- Monitor POS and payment-related behaviors, escalating issues to the Store Manager as needed.
- Perform daily walkthroughs to ensure brand guidelines are observed in both front-of-house and back-of-house areas, addressing any audit topics.
- Maintain company brand standards for a neat, clean, and organized sales floor, cash wrap, and fitting room, ensuring a safe environment for employees and customers.
- Ensure all displays, fixtures, and visual areas reflect current visual direction.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of previous retail operational experience, with preferred experience in luxury retail operations.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to anticipate and solve problems.
- Flexible and diplomatic communicator across all mediums and organizational levels.
- Strong attention to detail, solid organizational skills, and proven ability to multitask with consistent follow-through.
- Proactive nature with the ability to act and lead beyond area of expertise, adapting quickly to changing priorities.
- Proficient in POS systems and Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Ability to be mobile on the sales floor for extended periods.
- Availability to work opening or closing shifts, weekends, annual inventory, and the entire holiday season.
