Operations Manager
About the role
Chemours is seeking an Operations Manager to join our growing team at the New Johnsonville Plant in New Johnsonville, TN. The position will focus on operations strategy, planning, and execution, including communication and execution of business objectives, priorities, and progress across operations and maintenance areas.
Responsibilities
- Operations Strategy & Planning
- Communicate and execute business objectives, priorities, and progress across operations and maintenance areas.
- Develop short to mid-term plans, including improvement activities, and organize team members to execute the plans; ensuring availability of resources.
- Collaborate with plant manager to develop and establish Key Performance Indicators (KPI's).
- Provide input to supply chain strategy to optimize asset utilization.
- Provide input to the 5-10-year site strategic plan which supports the business and corporate strategy.
- Drive the application of Lean principles including standard work, visual management, daily management systems, and structured problem solving to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
- Coach and develop leaders at all levels to build capability in Lean tools and behaviors, ensuring lasting cultural change and performance improvement.

- Align areas with site strategic plan and vision; provide strategic leadership and direction as part of the site's leadership team to move plant to a world-class competitive position.
- Utilize performance tracking metrics to drive execution.
- Develop and execute plans to meet the annual P&CO commitments.

- Responsible for the managing processes and implementing best practices to achieve excellence in Quality.
- Through periodic Management Reviews, verify and assure adequacy and effectiveness of the Quality Policy & systems to assure that products continually meet specifications.
- Ensures investigation of quality non-conformances are completed and determines disposition.
- Cost
- Develop and execute plans to meet the annual P&CO commitments.
- Reviews financial activity reports and statements to determine progress towards attaining plant cost (fixed & plant related variable) and capital objectives, making adjustments, corrections and plans in accordance with current conditions and business requirements.
- Morale, Talent Management & Capability Building
- Develops a respectful work environment that fosters engagement of all employees.
- Ensures continuous learning and development to ensure that employees are energized and performing at peak levels.
- Provides development, coaching and mentoring to area leaders and employees.
- Encourages employee engagement and fosters empowerment and ownership through leader standard work and lean principles.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Operations, or related field.
- Minimum 6 years of experience in manufacturing or industrial operations, including leadership in a high-hazard or highly regulated environment.
- Demonstrated leadership of frontline teams and supervisors with accountability for safety, quality, production, and team building results.
- Strong working knowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM), EHS systems, and regulatory compliance in an industrial setting.
- Proven ability to deliver results through KPIs, operational discipline, and performance management.
- Willingness to relocate in the future.
Preferred
- Leverage Lean / Six Sigma certification or supporting a Lean transformation.
- Experience with ERP systems (such as SAP) and data driven decision making.

Pay Range
$126,067.00 - $196,980.00
Incentive Pay
The incentive pay is dependent on business results and individual performance and subject to the terms and conditions of the specific plans.
