Operations Manager

About the role

Responsible for planning, developing, and directing a safe, efficient, and high-morale distribution/fabrication operation to achieve company goals. Actively participate with management to develop, analyze, and evaluate the strategic direction of the branch to increase profitability, sales, and operational efficiency. Strong interdepartmental communication skills are required for working with both internal and external customers.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all daily operations and develop the annual business plan.
• Coordinate the Inside Sales effort, maintaining competitive market-based pricing to maximize Gross Margin and/or increase sales.
• Work with management and operations teams to ensure accurate, timely, and efficient shipping, receiving, and processing of material.
• Maintain an accurate and well-organized inventory; plan and implement storage layout.
• Manage Inside Sales staff, production/fabrication groups, and distribution teams, including recruiting, training, evaluating personnel, and weekly payroll management.
• Make regular suggestions for improvement and work on continuous improvement projects for lean, quality, and safety.
• Ensure all safety programs, company policies, procedures, and guidelines are maintained and properly documented.
• Develop a comprehensive succession plan for operations personnel.
• Perform other work-related duties as assigned; remain flexible and adaptable to changes during employment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required; 4-year degree in a related field preferred.
• Minimum of five years of experience managing and supervising in an industrial distribution environment.
• Minimum of five years of demonstrated experience leading and developing individuals and teams.
• Minimum of five years of industry experience in fluid conveyance or fluid sealing.
• Working knowledge of bottom-line business management with proven ability to make sound business decisions and resolve problems.
• Working knowledge of computers and business-related software; experience with P21 helpful.
• Strong verbal, written, mathematical, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English; verbal Spanish skills are beneficial.
