About the role
The Operations Manager is responsible for achieving short-to-mid strategic objectives while managing the P&L for production, maintenance, customer service, and supply chain. Reporting directly to the General Manager, this role focuses on maximizing process effectiveness, readiness, synergies, and standardization to ensure high-level efficiency, cost minimization, and compliance with applicable standards, regulations, global manufacturing practices, and corporate/local procedures.
Responsibilities
- Operations Management (Production, Maintenance, Customer Service, Supply Chain):
- Leads assigned functions, sets goals for costs, time, and quality, and manages resources, systems, and processes in collaboration with enabler functions to deliver results aligned with requirements, standards, and targets.
- Defines and monitors production plan execution in terms of time, volumes, mix, quality, and costs, reviewing and approving local plans with production leaders.
- Provides technical resolutions to reduce complaints, improve services, and fulfill sales demand.
- Collaborates with Quality, Tooling, Sales, and Program Management to support processes and identify areas for improvement.
- Operations Strategy Execution:
- Translates strategic objectives into actionable plans and ensures effective process execution, business continuity, and compliance with ISO standards, regulations, and procedures.
- Enables a continuous improvement mindset, process harmonization, and coordination with involved functions.
- Oversees corrective and preventive actions to ensure compliance with applicable standards and requirements.
- Monitoring and Reporting:
- Defines benchmarks and KPIs for performance and identifies critical issues for corrective and preventive measures.
- Budget Management:
- Manages and proposes budgets, including industrial equipment CAPEX, ensures COGS and Capex fulfillment, and oversees economic financial statements and capital performance in line with assigned budgets.
- People Management:
- Plans, organizes, manages, coaches, and develops assigned staff to ensure effective talent management, career path development, and training.
Requirements
- Engineering Degree (Bachelor/Master) or equivalent.
- Over 10 years of experience in Operations Management and/or Technical Management within the plastic sector, specifically in injection molding technologies from initial idea to mass production.
- Expertise in program management and product development for advanced components, drug delivery, and dosing systems.
Skills
- Knowledge of product and production processes and techniques.
- Continuous Improvement management, including Lean Management and Six Sigma methodologies and tools.
- Data analysis and operational performance metrics (KPIs).
- Proficiency with systems (ERP, IQMS) and tools for relevant processes.
- Knowledge of applicable standards such as ISO (9001, 13485), cGMP, FDA, CFR, and OHSAS.
