Operations Manager

About the role
We are seeking a full-time Operations Manager to oversee highway maintenance and repair operations in the Dania Beach, FL area. This role involves performing and managing a variety of tasks, including structure and bridge maintenance, pavement repairs (full and partial depth), guardrail repair, and adherence to all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company policies.
Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day operations, including scope of services, contract requirements, organizational structure, staffing, work plans, budgets, fleet management, vendor management, reporting, inventory, quality control, training, and continuous improvement.
- Manage key financial indicators with the Regional Manager, demonstrating improvement against budget and prior periods.
- Lead by example to ensure professionalism, responsiveness, and quality in all business conduct, instilling these values throughout the organization.
- Collaborate with Project & Regional Managers to address client issues, develop action plans, and enhance operational efficiency.
- Recruit, develop, retain, and reward a talented workforce while ensuring compliance with standards and specifications.
- Conduct career evaluations for direct reports and field staff.
- Handle weekly planning and scheduling of work.
- Perform tasks related to highway maintenance, such as structure and bridge repairs, pavement repairs, guardrail repair, and traffic control.
Requirements
- Minimum of five (5) years of industry-related experience.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Google Earth.
- Strong leadership qualities with experience overseeing, directing, and leading construction crews.
- Strong organizational skills for scheduling, work planning, and oversight of maintenance crews.
- Traffic Control experience.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Must pass criminal background check, MVR, and controlled substance/drug testing.
- Ability to operate and maintain company vehicles and equipment.
- Knowledge of local driving rules and regulations.
- Ability to carry out arithmetic functions.
- Maintain proper safety equipment required for each job.
- Knowledge and ability to adapt to the latest technology, including using smartphones and applications.
- Ability to adjust to changing work schedules and work safely under varying environmental and weather conditions.
- Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds; strenuous manual labor may be required.
- Ability to operate hand and power tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual (English/Spanish).
- Experience with projects using FDOT standard specifications.
- CDL A license.
- Clean driving record.

Schedule
Full-time; must be flexible and able to work varying schedules, including nights and weekends if needed.
